Our team hope you will join us on our journey to change the world one page at a time.
In 2017, carbon emissions increased globally by 1.7%. In 2018, they increased further, up 2.7% from the year before, and every year since it has only got worse.
In 2021, we understand climate change is a huge issue that needs to be faced head on.
The U.N. climate report and subsequent reports have warned us that global carbon pollution must be cut in half in the next 10 years for us to avoid catastrophic, irreversible damage to our planet. And yet we’re going in the opposite direction.
One and a half acres of forest is cut down every second, the loss of forests contributes between 12% and 17% of annual global greenhouse gas emissions.
Scientists Estimate that within 100 years, there will be no more rainforests.
Forests still cover about 30% of the world’s land area, but they are disappearing at an alarming rate. Between 1990 and 2016, the world lost 502,000 square miles of forest, an area larger than South Africa.
Since humans started cutting down forests, 46% of trees have been felled, according to a 2015 study.
About 17% of the Amazonian rainforest has been destroyed over the past 50 years, and losses recently have been on the rise.
How do we help?
The vast majority of notebooks today are made using Wood Pulp from felled trees, further damaging our precious ecosystems and causing extensive greenhouse gas emissions.
SL8 notebooks are different.
The paper, forged from stone instead of wood, heavily reduces the impact on our environment, with many added benefits!
